Corrections Policy

If a formula, unit, label, example, or assumption looks wrong, send a correction. Calculator accuracy matters more than keeping old copy in place.

What can be corrected

Corrections can cover formula errors, unit mistakes, unclear labels, broken links, outdated assumptions, typos, or examples that do not match the calculator output.

Visual layout issues are also useful to report when they make a calculator hard to read or use.

How to report a problem

Email [email protected]. Include the page URL, the inputs you used, the result shown by NumOwl, and the result you believe is correct.

For unit issues, include the selected unit system. For a formula issue, include your calculation if you have one.

How corrections are reviewed

Formula corrections are checked against the calculator logic and separate test cases. Copy corrections are checked against the current page so the visible explanation still matches the tool.

If the correction changes a calculator result or an important assumption, the page should be updated with a new modified date.

What we may not change

Some reports involve judgment calls, such as which default waste factor to use or how much rounding to show. In those cases, NumOwl may keep the current behavior but clarify the assumption on the page.
